Geocache: Noah's Ark and a minirail

The last few weeks I tried to go for geocaches on days that help me fill in my calendar. In many cases I just picked one that is in reach within a short time. The weather is not always too supportive here in the Netherlands. This time we headed to an easy pick along the Maas river, and we had not much clue on what to expect, one thing was sure there should be some seats to take as the geocache was under the small table next to the seats. If there are seats there should be a nice view we thought.

Not too complicated or creative but I guess not the container what was fun here
As you can see what we found was a nano under the table, easy to find.

Hiding under the small table
So when we arrived we drove over some interesting things, did not really think anything of that at that time. Then we got out of the car and started walking towards the coordinates, when I spotted a giraffe. What is that doing here on top of that big... Wait a second... What is that big building looking object floating on the water?

Noah's Ark and a giraffe on top
I knew there was one in the Netherlands that is parking in different harbours from time to time for shorter longer periods and can be visited, but I did not know it was so close right now where we live. From this point we could not get closer to it as this is a kind of an island on the Maas river, and the only road leading to it came from another part of the town.

You could sit and enjoy the view to the river and to the Ark of Noah
This place hiding that nano geocache turned out to offer a lot more then we expected. If the weather is more sunny and less windy it is a great place to sit down for a bit enjoy the view and have a sandwitch.

The water bus is here
This place offers another service that is not too common in most places, but here is a waterbus service and its stop, so this geocache can have the accessible by public transport attribute and you can come on the bus ... the water bus. I knew about the waterbus but never ever had a chance to take it and see where it stops.

The geocache is under that small table
Let's get back to this geocache. This is the place hiding the container, could use some paint for sure, but otherwise still functional. When I took this photo was the point when something caught my eyes. Look behind the seats, on the ground and next to it. A fence? What is that for? And what is that on the ground?

We looked at it closer and we had to realize it is a pair of rails, mini to be exact but both on the fence looking thing and the one on the ground with the same track size. This must be some fun rail for adults and of course kids.

The rails
As you can see it is well maintained; no grass in the tracks and from this angle you can see that the tracks are laid down just like the real big ones. What fun we have not far from where we live now, I never thought, one day if there will be some event here we'll check it out for sure.

Many thanks for the CO for this hide and all the fun around the geocache.
