Geocache: Duck in the woods

A really busy day at work and around the house. A bit tired, but let's finish the day with some geocaches. This one was the first I picked to go after, not far from home, so a short drive and we can start searching.

Ducks don't sit in trees and bushes
As in many cases we take the longer more fun way to go close to the geocaches, this is exactly how we did it with this one. There was some footprints going one way and I followed it. It was full with nettle and guess what I was wearing, of course shorts, it was good weather. Good weather in the Netherlands in general doesn't mean some would not wear layers, many of them.

The duck in the bush
Of course the way I was coming was on the other side of this bush, so I could not see the duck from that side. I once, and only once saw these ducks on sale in a cheap store in Germany and since then I regret not buying them. I since got some crows which are in progress, I need to find some perfect location for them to hide, but I will.

The area at this time of the year
There are geocaches out there which are easier to find in given seasons, like this one, when the nettle is not yet grown it is a lot easier to get to it, or when the leaves all fallen. A real geocacher picks the hardest condition to find a low difficulty and terrain geocache.

The time when we went for this was when we needed some more points for the Mary Hyde souvenirs and not many so an easy one should do, at leat that was the plan, but we managed to make it harder to find then it was originally.

Some plants
The geocache was hidden on a small island in Rotterdam, surrounded with water and two small bridges coming to this tiny island, not many muggles come around here especially on the side where the geocache is hidden so even with the extra effort we had to take we were not disturbed by anyone.

I'm not sure if these artificial recreation areas next to the residential area are designed or they just let anything grow on them as nature will handle it, but there is always some interesting plants you might see while passing by.

The view from the bridge
As you can see the vegetation grew nice and hige, it is not visible but the nettle was about the same hight behind the reed.

Many thanks for the CO for this hide and also to get us to the area just to walk a bit. Previously we found a few more closeby but lucky for us new geocaches are showing up here.
