Geocache: Bird house #5

One of my favorite hiding technic is hide a geocache in a bird house. This one I found in Tennessee while on the way to Jackson.

A beautiful bird house, but not for birds
To build a bird house you can find many instructions on the internet, and yet every time I find one it is different from the previous ones. I'm sure it was shiny when it was made and put out there. All those painting on it, it is one that deserves a favorite point for the work put into making the hiding place. I'm not always sure how people give their FAVOs away, I've see many beautifully done geocaches with many finds and only a few FAVOs. If I meed any hides where it is trivial that it was not just buying a plastic container putting a logbook in and placing it out there and I have available FAVOs I always give one to respect the CO.

Hiding in there
This bird house was placed next to a resting area along one of the busy highways in Tennessee. I love resting area geocaches, they give you a reason to stop, back in Europe I travel regularly from the Netherlands to Hungary via Germany and Austria. In Hungary there are not many more left along the highways, but there are still a few in Austria and Germany. What should we do when we are done with all of them? Oh it's easy we'll take another route even if that is longer or we'll get off the autobahn at some points for a few finds.

Beautiful sunny day, nice resting area
In the USA the advantage of having huge areas is that the resting areas can also be bigger, and that many of them are just like this nice, clean and organized is a plus. It is on our plans with my wife to one day just drive across the states and geocache all over in as many places as possible.

A view from the geocache to the parking area
As this geocache was located a few steps away from the parking area not many muggles would ever make it close to it, a safe place for it. As it was summer I started thinking of what would it look like in winter time? I know there is snow and ice in winter in the area and sometimes a lots of it. It could change the difficulty or terrain of this hide up a bit.

The entrance to the resting area
As you can see there is some traffic on the highway, but no trafficjams which was for our luck so we could just enjoy the drive and the view all the way to Jackson.

A picnic table at the resting area
There were picnic tables around as well, and also some or many squirrels, but they were fast could not get a picture of any of them.

It was a great place to stop after a few hours drive and before arriving to Jackson to see the Casey Jones Village there. We were early so making this stop was also good to spend some time.

Many thanks for the CO for this hide at this great place.
